As the new year begins, I reflect on all that I have achieved in the past 365 days.
In the beginning of 2017, I went from being laid off from a horrible job to being offered an amazing position. I self published my first book. I paid off three credit cards and watched my credit score improve. And I returned to school to finish my bachelors.
Of all the great things that transpired in 2017, I am looking forward to even greater things in 2018.
As I considered my resolutions for this new year, I realized that they are identical to my resolutions for last year: write more, pray more, read more, travel more, connect with others more, etcetera etcetera. These are what I like to call my "generic" resolutions, the resolutions that do not necessarily change because they are constant areas of growth.
For 2018, I want to be more intentional about my growth. I want to envision where I see myself and take the necessary steps to get there. I want to witness myself developing into the woman I want to become. I want to set obtainable goals. I want to learn how to effectively express my emotions. I also want to not get discouraged when things move slowly or do not happen exactly how I had planned. I want to continue learning to trust and rely on God wholeheartedly--to not be frantic about my future, but hopeful.
I have great expectations for 2018. I truly believe that God will do far beyond what I can imagine.
Now to the God who can do so many awe-inspiring things, immeasurable things, things greater than we ever could ask or imagine through the power at work in us, to Him be all glory in the church and in Jesus the Anointed from this generation to the next, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (VOICE)Stay tuned...
