Detoxing with Clay

I am a huge Shea Moisture advocate, but there are a few other natural hair products that work for me—Carol's Daughter being one of them. My friend, Bre, is the one who introduced me to their new line, Rhassoul Clay. I knew I had to try it for myself because Bre is one of my friends who has really healthy hair. I picked up the Softening Hair Mask and the Enriching Conditioner. First off, let me tell you that this line smells amazing! I'm pretty sure I used an excessive amount of the mask on my first try simply because I couldn't get enough of its scent! Both the hair mask and conditioner left my hair feeling so soft and silky—I highly recommend.

I did the mask how I normally do any other mask/deep treatment. I rinse my hair, detangled, evenly applied the product, and placed my hair in a top bun. Then I got a washcloth and placed it in a bowl of water which I then microwaved for about a minute. Carefully, I took the washcloth out of the bowl and wrung out the washcloth. I placed a plastic shower cap over my head, then placed the heated washcloth over the shower cap and then I placed another shower cap on top of the washcloth to allow the heat to penetrate my hair. Now here's the key: leave the deep treatment mask on your hair long enough for it to saturate your hair, but not too long. I've made the mistake of wearing deep treatments for hours, sometimes a whole day but that actually causes a lot of shedding. So I try to keep it in my hair anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes then rinse it completely with cool water and quickly set angle again before styling.

I've heard so many great things about this Indian Healing Clay. Not only is it good for your skin but it's also good for your hair. I haven't tried it on my hair yet, but I have created a face mask with it. I mixed it with Apple Cider Vinegar as instructed and evenly applied it on my face. I left it on until it completely dried and rinsed with warm water and then cool water. It was so refreshing. It has that tingling feeling that convinces me its deep cleaning my pores. I immediately saw a difference in my skin! It seemed much clearer and smooth. I definitely suggest you try this stuff out. It is sold on Amazon, but luckily I found it at a local beauty supply store.
